Who is eligible for Open Hand services?
This depends on the client type and medical situation. Please read the about Open Hand’s  client categories and follow the next steps for the category you fall in or feel free to contact Open Hand Client Services at (404) 872-6947.

Who do I talk to about getting emergency food meals or pantry items?
Open Hand does not provide emergency food items, but we have referral sources that may be able to assist you in your time of need.

What does my meal consist of?
Meals generally consist of an entrée, dessert and a roll.  Each meal provides you with at least one-third of the recommended daily nutritional requirement, and each meal is designed by our registered dietitians according to the guidelines established by the Georgia Dietetic Association. The meal will also come with nutrition information that will help motivate you to gain a better understanding of the role each meal plays in helping you manage your health

How do I access Open Hand services?
Each client category has a different set of criteria as well as a unique enrollment process. Find out which category best describes you and utilize The Next Step page to contact the appropriate agency.  Feel free to contact us at (404) 872-6947 if you have any questions that are not answered here.

How does the delivery for the meal service work?
Meal delivery is 7 days a week, with weekend meals being delivered on Saturday.  Meal delivery schedules for HIV/AIDS, Critically Ill and Fee for Service clients can be decided by the client.

When do clients receive their meals?
Open Hand delivers two meals and one snack for each day of the week.  Meals are delivered on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  The Saturday delivery will include both weekend meal sets, with no Sunday delivery.  Meals are usually delivered between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM.
